Downtown Disney remains one of my favorite places to get my Disney fix even on days I’m not planning on visiting the parks. From dining to shopping, there are so many magical touches at the outdoor area of the resort. With the first ever Pixar Fest happening now at the Disneyland Resort, I was thrilled to see the celebration extend into the Downtown Disney District.

Downtown Disney is ever evolving. New restaurants and entertainment have been announced including sweet scoops from Salt & Straw, the retro fabulous bowling alley Splitsville, and best brews from Ballast Point. With the planned addition of two new hotels, everything west of the monorail will be removed. It’ll be exciting to see the updates to the area, making each visit feel brand new.
I was thrilled to see the that the fun happening right now at the Disneyland Resort, Pixar Fest, doesn’t stop at the park gates. Pixar Fest celebrates the stories, characters, and frienships of our favorite Disney/Pixar films. From themed treats to adorable merchandise, updated parades to a fantastic fireworks spectacular, Pixar Fest is an energetic event that you won’t want to miss within the resort. But what can you expect at Downtown Disney?

Themed Topiaries
The planters around Downtown Disney are great people watch. They’re also great places to Pixar watch. Enjoy the stylized topiaries featuring the characters from films including Finding Nemo and The Incredibles.
LEGO Store
Always on display at the LEGO Store are the Disney characters we adore built brick by brick in true LEGO fashion. Check out the Buzz Lightyear and Woody outside the store for a fun photo op.
WonderGround Gallery
My husband’s favorite spot in the Downtown Disney dining and shopping area is the WonderGround Gallery. If you’ve checked out our living room, you know that we’ve picked up many pieces from this Disney themed art gallery. With artists in residence and an ever changing collection, you never know what you’ll find on display. In addition to limited edition pieces, you’ll find some great merchandise.
Monorail
The Monorail received a makeover for Pixar Fest! Check out the Pixar themed designs as they zoom through Downtown Disney. If you’re popping into the parks, you can enter from the Downtown Disney station.
World of Disney
There’s tons of adorable Pixar Fest merchandise available within the parks. But the World of Disney also has terrific options for souvenirs. I’m loving the Buzz Lightyear Bubble Blower. The alien plush and adorable accessories would make for darling ways to remember your visit also.
The Disney Dress Shop
Featuring vintage-inspired dresses, skirts, and accessories, the Disney Dress Shop offers Disney lovers adorable options for a dapper day strolling through the park. If you’re looking for a Pixar-themed option, try the Monsters Inc. dress with door design print.
Downtown Disney is a great extension of the fun happening now at the Disneyland Resort!
Before your visit, you may want to rewatch your favorite Pixar movies!

Wow! I haven’t been to Disneyland since 2004. It’s time to take another trip! There are so many things happening over there. We live near WDW, so that’s our go-to Disney fix, but I do want to hop over there again. These pics are fantastic!
I’ve been seeing all kinds of photos from friends of Pixar Fest, but this is the first I’m really seeing of Downtown Disney! Everything looks so fresh and fun! I’m dying to have some of the dresses from the dress shop. Thank you so much for sharing!
I’ve visited the Disney parks during Pixar Fest, but I had no clue that all the Pixar themed fun extended into Downtown Disney! I’ll have to make another trip to Disneyland during Pixar Fest to check out everything Pixar related in Downtown Disney!
Those topiary are awesome! I’ve never been to Disney but maybe some day.
Looks like so much fun! Glad you had a great time!
The Disney stuff is always so magical, my daughter loves everything there. I have been to the Disney land in Paris and not anywhere else.
I would love to see Paris! Some day!
There’s so much to love about this Pixar Fest and it’s awesome to be able to experience it as well. I’ve seen the food and all that, but this is new to me! It really makes going to Disney more worth it!
One of my favorite things about Disney is our visits are never the same. There’s always new magic in store!

I’ve never experienced Pixar fest in Disney before! I’ve been hearing so many awesome things about it though. I think it’s something to look forward to, not just for the kids but for the adults as well!
Definitely! It’s so much fun for the whole family. I often leave the kids at home to play at Disney by myself.
I’d have to say my favorite pixar movie is Toy Story. How can anyone not love that movie, it was an instant classic and one my whole family still watches today.
Yes! It’s definitely at the top of my list too.
This looks like a fantastic fest! A real treat for Disney fans. The gallery of the artwork looks amazing I would love to see it.
