Dry Clean at Home with Dryel

When our first daughter was born, my husband and I both commuted to work for over an hour each.  Our pediatrician was half an hour away, our dentist almost an hour.  It has been our goal for the last decade to localize our lives, to spend less time driving all over.  I’m even cutting back on running errands.  One errand I am so thrilled to cut out of the routine is going to the dry cleaner.  Thanks to Dryel, I can dry clean my clothes at home!

This is a sponsored post written on behalf of Dryel.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Even working from home, I’m still streamlining our lives so that we can maximize our quality time together in this castle of ours.  Spending time with my husband and three princesses is always my top priority.  You can feel a lot like Cinderella when you’re doing chores all day.

To try out the Dryel supplies I was sent, I started with the custom-made costumes my mother-in-law has made for my girls.  Each dress, or should I say gown, is made with delicate fabrics and a whole lot of love.  Yet the dresses have been well worn. Simply throwing them in the washing machine didn’t seem like a good idea, but I just couldn’t imagine dropping them off at the dry cleaner.  Dryel to the rescue!

The Dryel starting kit came with a fabric protection bag and set of ULTRAcleaning cloths.  Knowing I was cleaning my girls’ delicate clothes for make believe, I checked the garments for stains or marks.  My kit also came with a stain removing pen and bottle of booster spray.  The pen is perfect for throwing in your bag for messes on the go.  The booster spray is a great idea for extra smelly clothing.

Next, I placed the clothing, up to 5 items, in the fabric protection bag.  Add an ULTRAcleaning cloth and zip shut.  To make sure the clothes tumble freely, the bag can’t be more than half full.  Tumble the clothing on medium heat for 15 minutes to refresh or 30 minutes to deep clean.  Using the heat of the dryer, the cloth becomes activated to get into the fibers of the material.  Just like a fairy godmother transformed the clothing, the magic cloth removes soils and odors from the clothes.

Once the dryer is done, you’ll want to promptly hang the clothing.  They came out slightly damp; when I hung them to dry they came out wrinkle free.  Each dress smelled fresh and clean.

Do I dare say I’m excited about chores?  I am excited about cutting down on running errands now that I can skip the run to the dry cleaner.  Plus, this busy mama can double up on laundry day and start a load in the washing machine while putting dry clean only, special care, or hard to clean items in my Dryel At-Home Dry Cleaning bag.

Dress-up clothes aren’t all that can be cleaned with Dryel.  Jeans, sweaters, scarves, and outwear can be added.  Don’t stop there though!  Teddy bears stay snuggly steaming fresh with Dryel.  Cleaning you castle?  Add your drapes to the dryer to keep them looking and smelling fresh.

The magic of dry cleaning at home sounds costly doesn’t it? Truth is, Dryel can take care of your dry clean only or special care items for as low as 25 cents per garment.  Plus, you can grab this coupon to save even more.

You can pick up Dryel at major retailers or online.  Eliminating the errand of heading to the dry cleaner means extra time to spend with my princesses.  What errand would you eliminate?
