Care for Special Fabrics with Dryel

Looking to preserve your special care fabrics, including denim, easily at home?  Try Dryel At-Home Dry Cleaner!

Thank you, Dryel, for sponsoring this post.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The holidays are officially upon us.  Caring for your holiday best has never been easier with Dryel, which allows you to  dry-clean at home.   I’m looking for all the hacks to cut down on time sucking errands and saving money for extra holiday shopping.  Thankfully, this year brought magic to my laundry room in the form of Dryel!  I’ve shared about Dryel before.

It’s been a greet trick in my wardrobe arsenal.  Not only can I skip an errand by not having to drag the kids to the dry cleaner for drop off and pick up, I can save money on my cleaning bills.  It’s also a speedy way to get my clothes cleaned, using the steam of my dryer.

Dryel can safely clean and restore my special care items with no fading, shrinking, stretching or harsh chemicals.

Dryel Protects Special Care Items

To understand how Dryel protects, you first need to know how it works.  Dryel uses a special Fabric Protection Bag.  Add your clothing to the bag with an ULTRAcleaning cloth, and pop it in the dryer.  Using the power of the steam from your dryer, Dryel cleans and freshens clothing.

The clothes come out of the dryer a little damp, so hang them quickly to reduce wrinkles.  It’s so easy to get the dry cleaning done at home!

My tween lives in her denim, but I feel like I’m always washing her jeans.  Does this sound like your kid?

If I wore it for more than five seconds, it’s dirty.

If I thought about wearing it, it’s dirty.

If my mom washed it and I don’t want to put away my laundry, it’s dirty.

Showing her this graphic, knowing that regular washing was going to wear down her favorite clothes helped.  And the best news is that using Dryel is so simple, she can take over cleaning her own denim.

Since the majority of my laundering is kid clothes, it’s important to note that the ULTAcleaning Cloth and Fabric Protection Bag work together to remove dirt, but also odors.  The balance between cleaning elements and steam work through the clothing is some kind of magic.  If you need a little extra boost to your clean, try the Dryel Booster Spray or the on-the-go pen (perfect for the daily spills and stains that come along with raising kids).

Denim Care Tips for Tweens

Since she lives in her jeans, teaching my tween how to care for them is so, so important.  It saves her favorite looks and saves me a ton of money not having to replace her clothes.

Share these Denim Care Tips with your Tweens:

  • Wash Less Often I threw a little history lesson in to remind my daughter of the miners searching for gold in California streams.  Denim was made for them, and there’s no way they washed their jeans after half a day’s wear.  Wash your jeans less often to preserve them.
  • Clean with Dryel When it’s time to clean your denim, use the gentlest method possible.  Dryel to the rescue!
  • Fold Your Jeans Folding your denim cuts down on creasing and is gentler on your clothes.
  • Spot Treat Treat stains using the Dryel on-the-go pen, rather than washing the entire items.  Never put denim away soiled, and repair any damage before washing.

  • I have a friend who swears by Dryel. I have yet to try it, but I really do want to. I’ll have to pick some up the next time I’m at the store.

    • Think twice. Old Dryel was great. New and improved is terrible. Sweaters and pants come out wrinkled. So much for steaming and “hang to reduce wrinkles” instructions. They’ve done something to the bag, and the fragrance is stronger – not in a good way.

  • I have not use them in quite a while. They are way cheaper than sitting your clothes to get dry cleaned. My parents are coming in a couple of weeks and I know when they are here they will be a couple more suits I need to clean. This will come in very handy.

  • I love Dryel. I’ve been using it for years. Since I’ve been using it, my delicates and extra special items have looked better and lasted much longer.

  • Dryel is a great way to save money on dry cleaning, but I never knew it was good for denim. My kids live in denim and so do i so i will try the Dryel on it.

  • This looks super handy, easy-to-use and a far better alternative than detergent. I need to look into it for someo for our more expensive clothes… I don’t want to throw them in the laundry machine and ruin them.

  • I’ve used Dryel in the past, and I felt it was an awesome product. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to save money on dry cleaning.

  • I could really use this for my laundry routine. I definitely want to keep all of our denim looking new as long as I can.

  • Nothing worse than when the wash ruins your favorite pair of jeans. Dryel is a must have for taking care of dry clean only clothes at home.

  • I never tried Dryel..never knew what it was used for. I’m glad I read this post..looks like we need to pick some up!

  • Oh you described my kid exactly with what you said about when it’s dirty. So many times I rewash what’s clean, it’s annoying. I like the idea of a product that will make our denim last longer.

  • I’ve never really considered this product before, but you definitely have me thinking. Once you were talking “tween” talk ~ you had me going, “Hmmmm……” Thanks for the tips!

  • Oh wow! What a difference with using Dryel on denim. I didn’t realize that washing denim with detergent faded them so much.

  • How are use Dryel for as long as I can remember for clothes that need extra special care. It’s one of the best products on the market in my opinion.

  • I don’t do dry cleaners so this is going to be a must-have for us. I had no idea this was a thing so thankful you’ve shared.

  • I have some of my daughter’s prom dresses I have been putting off taking to the cleaners. I think I might try Dryel instead to save myself some time and money.
