5 Reasons I Am Dying to Visit Scary Farm

The fog is rolling back in! After a year hiatus, Knott’s Berry Farm is welcoming back Southern California’s must-visit haunt for the Halloween season. From new mazes to entertainment, here are 5 reasons I’m dying to visit Knott’s Scary Farm.

As a Knott’s Anniversary Ambassador, I receive complimentary admission. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This weekend, I was invited to attend “Behind the Screams,” an evening to preview the 2021 Knott’s Scary Farm entertainment and dining line-up. It filled my little black heart with excitement to be back at the Farm, but also made me so excited about what’s in store for the new year.

The NEW Maze — Mesmer: Sideshow of the Mind

The new maze for Scary Farm 2021 is Mesmer: Sideshow of the Mind. Pull back the curtains and witness the hypnotist Mesmer present oddities and grotesque secrets in his sinister sideshow. While the maze was originally planned for 2020, event producers shared that the extra year gave them an extra year to make it something truly extraordinary.

They even let me try on Mesmer’s mask!

Mesmer: Sideshow of the Mind is just one maze to add thrilling fun to your visit. Check out what else is in store!

Returning Mazes:

  • Pumpkin Eater
  • Origins: The Curse of Calico
  • Dark Entities
  • The Depths
  • Dark Ride
  • Wax Works
  • Paranormal Inc.

Each features its own unique storyline and scares. My personal favorite from years past is The Depths. Make sure to follow ClementineCounty on Instagram for a sneak peek at mazes and more Knott’s content.

An Interactive Scare Zone — Gore-ing 20’s

In 2020, Scary Farm incorporated its first Knott’s Berry Farm themed maze complete with a crazed Catawumpus. In the similar vein, Knott’s producers are paying homage to the Knott’s legacy with a scare zone complementing its park theme. The new Gore-ing 20’s Scare Zone will be terrifying visitors in a brand new way.

Consider the immersive world of Knott’s Ghost Town Alive where guests are as much a part of the action as the characters. This new engaging twist on a Scare Zone will have you experiencing the dreadful decadence of the 1920’s first-hand.

Die Laughing at Puppet Up

So funny, it’s frightening! Returning to Scary Farm’s entertainment line-up is Puppet Up! The adult (read wildly inappropriate) improv show features Muppet-style puppetry. The show relies on situational comedy suggested by audience members. It’s hilarious, raunchy, and the perfect mid-scream monster break.

RSVP Yes to Invitation to Terror

If you are a member of any Knott’s fan groups on social media, you’re probably familiar with two questions: “Is the park busy?” and “When’s the Mystery Lodge opening?” To the first, I suggest you check out the live webcams to gauge crowds. To the second, I mournfully do not have an answer…normally!

A new show “Invitation to Terror” uses the Mystery Lodge technology for a new entertainment offering, exclusive to Scary Farm. Set in the 1980’s, the eccentric millionaire Tom Shackleford whose new project is promised to change the world. But will it be for the better?

Spooky Sweets & Eats

All that screaming can work up an appetite! Check out some of the hauntingly delicious dishes available during the Halloween season at Knott’s Berry Farm.

From frog legs (yes, literal frog legs) to Candy Corn trifles, there’s enough frighteningly delicious dishes to last all season long.

Knotts’s Berry Farm welcomes its iconic haunt, Scary Farm, September 16-October 31 on select nights.
